Fresh Food from Die Platteland

Here’s a really fun market. There aren’t many places (in the world, most likely) that are as colourful and quirky as the Platteland (read: Darling, Saldanha Bay, Langebaan, Paternoster, Moorreesburg, Melkbosstrand…). The Fresh Food from Die Platteland Market at The Palms centre in Woodstock is a great place to meet interesting producers. With over 40 traders, there’s Flippie Melck’s homemade sausage, offal from Leilieblom Plaas in Darling, fresh baked sourdough from Hopefield and Carmien-flower infused tea from a Rooibos farm in Citrusdal. It’s been going for a while, but from this month you’ll be able to visit every Saturday.

And there’s more… the all-new Lock Stock is a sister market on the mezzanine level to inspire design aficionados.

Oh, and PS, this weekend you have a snoek braai to look forward to.
