The Swartland Wine Route comes to Cape Town

The Swartland Wine and Olive Route will be taking place at the Kirstenbosch Stone Cottages on 8 October this year. Reason being that the Swartland stretches over some 10 000km’s, so to hold a festival out there would be close to impossible. Some of my favourite wines will be there: AA Badenhorst Family Wines, Lammershoek, Org de Rac organic wines, Kloovenburg shiraz.
It’s a great opportunity to meet the winemakers and sample some of the best olives, jams and preserves (not to mention that Swartland bread!). There’s also the promise of live music, steaming potjiekos and fresh produce from the area. I think it’s time we realised that some of the country’s best wines are made outside of the Stellenbosch/Franschhoek wine region.
The fun bus will be leaving Noordhoek at 10am sharp. Valley dwellers, let me know if you’d like a ride.

Great! Seems we’ll finally be meeting at the Noordhoek Farm Village. I’m going to be co-judging potjies with you!

Hey Misty. That’s very sad. Especially as I’ve got a really fun team together. Next year! B
